Well crafted at IAC - Seth Kauffman & Evan Martin

  • Iredell Arts Council 203 S. Meeting St Statesville United States (map)

The Iredell Arts Council is excited to present the next installment of Well Crafted, an intimate music series curated by Asheville pedal steel guitarist Matthew Smith.

Taking place Thursday, March 26 from 7:30–9:00 PM inside the historic Old County Jail, this special evening blends live performance with conversation—offering audiences a closer look at the stories and creative process behind the music.

For this event, Matthew Smith will be joined by Seth Kauffman and Evan Martin, three musicians who have played and traveled together for nearly 20 years.

Seth Kauffman, best known as the creative force behind Floating Action, is known for his soulful, genre-blending songwriting. Over the years, he has also shared the stage with artists such as Ray LaMontagne, Jim James, and Lana Del Rey, bringing his distinctive musical voice to audiences across the country.

Joining them is Evan Martin, drummer for Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters, whose work has taken him to stages at festivals including MerleFest, AmericanaFest, and Mountain Stage.

Set in the intimate atmosphere of the Old Jail, the evening promises a rare musical experience—less like a traditional concert and more like sitting in on a conversation between great musicians

The Iredell Arts Council proudly presents the Well-Crafted Music Series, a five-part program curated by Asheville pedal steel guitarist Matt Smith. This intimate series brings acclaimed musicians from Western North Carolina to the Old Jail, where Matt blends performance and conversation to spotlight the relationships he’s built over 20+ years of touring and recording.
