Statesville, NC — The Iredell Arts Council is pleased to welcome four new members to its Board of Directors: Lisa Allen, Jay Steele, Kyre Mitchell, and Matt Anderson. Each brings a unique blend of creativity, professional expertise, and community perspective that will help guide the organization into its next chapter.

Lisa Allen brings a background in marketing and public relations, along with a passion for storytelling and community outreach. Jay Steele offers deep local roots and experience working with a music management group, supporting and advocating for musicians. Kyre Mitchell is a local multidisciplinary artist working in dance and film, providing an artist-centered voice and creative insight. Matt Anderson, new to Iredell County, brings fresh energy and enthusiasm for learning about and supporting the local arts ecosystem.

The Iredell Arts Council also extends its sincere gratitude to Tommy Allison, who is concluding three years of service on the Board of Directors. Tommy’s dedication and steady leadership helped guide the organization through a period of growth and transition, leaving a lasting impact. In addition, the Arts Council thanks Kirk Lawton, who stepped down in November 2025 after six years of service as Board Chair, for his exceptional leadership and commitment to the organization.

“We are incredibly grateful to Tommy and Kirk for their time, leadership, and care for the Arts Council,” said Sydney Koppelmeyer, Executive Director of the Iredell Arts Council. “As we continue to grow and evolve, we are thrilled to welcome this new group of board members who bring energy, creativity, and heart to the future of IAC.”
