Get Creative at Art in the Park with Hands-On Workshops and Pottery Demonstrations
This year, visitors can enjoy a series of live demonstrations and hands-on workshops co-hosted by Create Pottery Studio and Mooresville Arts. Together, these two organizations are bringing talented local artists to Art in the Park to share their skills, creative processes, and passion for the arts with festival attendees of all ages.
Create Pottery Studio owner Gin Scott will host pottery demonstrations by Bruce Jordan and Robin McGuirt, two accomplished potters from northern Iredell County.
Mooresville Arts will also present artist Andy Chrem, whose demonstration will showcase the creativity and artistic talent fostered through the organization’s exhibitions, classes, and community programs. A

Hand-Building Techniques with Robin McGuirt
12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Robin McGuirt brings together her talents as a potter, painter, and professional photographer to create distinctive ceramic artwork from her home studio. During her demonstration, Robin will showcase hand-building techniques and share how she uses clay to create expressive, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Visitors will gain insight into a different approach to pottery-making and discover the creative possibilities that hand-built ceramics offer.
Create Your Own Hand-Sewn Felt Bag
1:30 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Young artists can also participate in a fun, hands-on sewing workshop where they'll create their own felt mini bag while learning basic stitching techniques, including the whip stitch, straight stitch, and blanket stitch.
