IREDELL ARTS COUNCIL ACCEPTING GRASSROOTS ARTS PROGRAM SUBGRANT APPLICATIONS
STATESVILLE, NC — The Iredell Arts Council is now accepting applications for the North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program subgrants for arts and cultural programming in Iredell County. Applications must be received by September 30th, 2026.
Established by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1977, the Grassroots Arts Program ensures that people across North Carolina have access to high-quality arts experiences. The program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties through a network of local arts councils and community partners.
The Iredell Arts Council serves as the North Carolina Arts Council’s local partner for the Grassroots Arts Program in Iredell County, providing subgrant funding to support local arts organizations, artists, and community organizations offering arts programming throughout the county.
Funding is available to nonprofit organizations and organizations that are nonprofit in nature. Priority is given to arts organizations such as theaters, galleries, art guilds, music organizations, dance companies, folk arts organizations, writers’ groups, and arts festivals; arts education programs conducted by qualified artists; and other community organizations providing arts programming in Iredell County.
Organizations that already receive direct funding from the North Carolina Arts Council are not eligible. Funded projects must take place between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.
“Grassroots funding is about more than supporting individual arts programs; it’s about investing in the creative life of our community,” said Sydney Koppelmeyer, Executive Director of the Iredell Arts Council. “These grants help local artists and organizations bring their ideas to life, create meaningful experiences, and make sure that the arts are happening in communities across Iredell County.”

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of community members, with grant awards announced in October.
